Saludos! I want to congratulate all who have been involved in the planning of the reunion! What a great job you’ve done! We really wish we could be a part of it, even though I (and we) have been back numerous times. It’s always been wonderful! The last time, 4 years ago, we got to El Valle for the 1st time. We DEFINITELY recommend it! Gorgeous area!!
Our very best to all of you! Buen provecho y que se diviertan muchisimo!!!

I am looking forward to my third return to Panama since serving 1965-68.   My wife, Sandie, and I will spend some time prior to the reunion with some friends on Pacific beaches.  We hope to get to the Costa Arriba in Colon province also.  We are saddened by the loss of our dear Panama PC friend Bill Bell (group 13) who died last fall in Connecticut.

Wow, after 40 years I am finally going back to Panama.  Glad to see so many old friends are also attending.  Talk about memories!  Looking forward to seeing everyone, especially Weston Ware; Bonnie & John Ulrich; Barbara & Richard Cook, and Marty McNamara.   Can't believe that the volunteer I replaced in 65 (Dave Fishlow) is a land owner.

Hi All,  Just wanted to mention that we had a mini-reunion down there in January, and it was fabulous.  I loved it and would like to go again, but can't do it twice in one year.  This was my first return, and I am sorry I waited so long.  There were about 20 of us and we had a great time.  Hope you all have fun.

I look forward to seeing all of you here in Panama in June. I have already had some Gp. 14 visitors and look forward to inviting anyone and everyone to come visit Azuero.
Two PCVs and I will host a 4 day tour of Azuero and also I have an evolving Information Sheet on travel in Panama. So send me an email and I can send more details about both (after Mar. 20). Bonnie Birker, Guarare - Tierra de Chuku-Chuku!

Greetings to all our ol' amigos in 13 -- We started as 100 aspirantes, but only 96 made it out of Philadelphia. Ah, the good ol' days. They aren't making nostalgia like they once did.

Reading through the responses in this blog,I am delighted to see familiar names and can instnatly associate them with a face and at least 1 interesting story.

My wife once commented that Peace Corps buddies who haven't seen each other for a couple of decades can still drop into a conversation as thought one just stepped back into the kitchen. After a couple of "palitos de seco" that is no easy task.

Don't we all wish we had kept in better touch?

There is nothing I would like more than to join the crowd in Panama and visit my home near Bejuco. Turns out our oldest daughter is about to deliver our first grand child at about that time, so we will be otherwise occupied.

Enjoy your pindin......
Vamos a la brega, compa....

We are trying to find a reason not to go but could be persuaded if we knew that there were a number of 1V going.  Milly Hendricks is in the same boat and she would go if she knew of others in our group were going.  Please give us a reason not to refuse!

I will be in Panama for work and joing the last two days of the reunion and hopefully all of the exciting night time activities. This reunion is going to be a phenomenal experience and hope that a lot of fellow PCPF members will be able to attend - especially Group 44 (whoop whoop)!

Great job Directiva on planning this (big kudos to Val, Jaime, and Itza)!

Charlotte and I are planning to be there.  It looks like a good crowd of folks from 66-68 will be coming and we look forward to renewing friendships, telling stories and remembing friends who meant much to us but have passed on.  I think particularly of Tom McBride and Tony Carusoni. The "Judge" never could teach me how to dance!

I received my calendars for 2008 ( gave one to all my kids) and have enjoyed the photos so much.  My husband and I and maybe a daughter will be going to the reunion. Come on group 6 .  Let's do this.  I have been fortunate enough to attend some of the other events here in DC.  WOW.  What fun.  The Peace Corps experience defined my life in some ways and as best as I am able to , I would like to return to Panama in hopes of reliving some of those experiences.  No great hopes as I am sure my village has changed considerably (La Colorada de Veraguas), but maybe somebody there remembers Josafina.

Hi All,

I am seriously considering going to the reunion.  It has been a few years since I have visted and I am hoping to take a trip to San Blas.  Never made it there when I was serving.  I home some of my group and group members that served at the same time will be there.   Can't wait to head to my community and see the new paved road they put in.  (1999-2001)

Questions for current or recent PCV's in Panama City:  Is there still a neighborhood in Panama Viejo?  Or has my old turf been  "improved" by tearing it down?

Also, Antonio Saldana was a member of my committee in 1969, young enough to still be around.  Is this a name anyone has heard of?  He was a student in 1970, so would be in his 50s now?

My wife and I are planning on this reunion.  See you there!
